Sokkia must have a pile of these sitting in a warehouse somewhere, because this model has remained unchanged for many years now. In any event, why mess with a good thing? ! The B1/ B1C levels are robust all-metal instruments which are built to last, unlike many other products today. Still made in Japan, they are a little pricier than some, but have an undeniable quality feel to their operation and optics.
